The Four Quadrants
The Four Quadrants
"Good things happen to good people."
Following the four astrological groupings, a further division is made of the zodiac circle into four equal parts; this brings us to the four quadrants.
The Northern and Southern hemispheres are divided by the horizon, and the Eastern and Western hemispheres are divided by the meridian.
The four quarters formed by the intersection of the horizon and the meridian are known as the four quadrants.
Each quadrant is associated with a particular season and area of focus.
When we find the majority of planets in any one quadrant, we can apply the following meaning.
INNER AWARENESS OF THE INNER WORLD
FIRST, SECOND AND THIRD HOUSES“
First house: the persona, leadership ability and initiative.
Second house: possessions, finance, security and self-worth.
Third house: mental dexterity, communication and sales.
When the majority of planets fall in the first quadrant, the area of focus is in asset development and personal growth.
In this quadrant we use our experience and resources to acquire possession in order to further our asset development and personal growth. We encourage others to follow our lead whereby we can show them how to become self-sufficient. We may think “if we can do it then you can do it”.
We are asset driven, reliable, dependable and dexterous, but this can be an area of testing because we can be financially challenged.
Above all, we are self-starters who like to get things up and running. Once up and running we will either sell, or hand the responsibility over for someone else to run while we start something new.
We may think we do things better than most other people, and to this end we probably do.
INNER AWARENESS OF THE OUTER WORLD
FOURTH, FIFTH AND SIXTH HOUSES
“THE HAND THAT ROCKS THE CRADLE”
Keywords: emotion and feeling.
Fourth house: family care and home security.
Fifth house: pleasure, happiness, creativity, children and leisure-time activities.
Sixth house: work, service, community needs and duty.
When the majority of planets fall in the second quadrant, the area of focus is in creating a happy and harmonious family and working environment.
In this quadrant we will try to mediate any disagreement amongst co-workers because we like to get along with everyone. We do our best to make sure that we contribute to a happy and harmonious working environment, but we must enjoy what we are doing. Other work interests can involve enjoyable leisure-time activities, pastimes and hobbies which can include family, loved ones and children.
We enjoy creating happiness and opportunity for others, but this can be an area of testing where we can be challenged through family love and duty.
We are supportive and loyal to our family because we consider it our duty to be so.
The joy of creating pleasure for other people makes us feel inwardly fulfilled.
OUTER AWARENESS OF THE OUTER WORLD
SEVENTH, EIGHTH AND NINTH HOUSES
Seventh house: marriage, close friends, public connections and equal sharing.
Eighth house: joint resources, financial and public trust, financial investments, taxation, legacies and wills.
Ninth house: the wider horizon of belief, philosophy, law and justice.
When the majority of planets fall in the third quadrant, the area of focus is in fair trade, equal sharing and justice.
In this quadrant the soul attracts to overcome. It is not what happens in the attraction but how we react and what we learn.
Financial investments, stocks, shares, taxation, legacies, wills, joint resources, agreements and business partnerships can be areas of testing and challenge.
For example, we believe that if you work hard and pay your taxes you deserve the benefits. The welfare system funded by the tax payer should not be used for self gain. To do so is an indictment on the welfare system and unacceptable.
We are driven to replace unjustifiable gain with justice.
OUTER AWARENESS OF THE INNER WORLD
TENTH, ELEVENTH AND TWELFTH HOUSES
Tenth house: reputation, authority and sense of responsibility.
Eleventh house: friends and associates, hopes and wishes, social welfare, and making the world a better place.
Twelfth house: The subconscious mind, our innermost fears and inner-healing through service to others.
When the majority of planets fall in the fourth quadrant, the area of focus is in taking responsibility; to rise above limitation and give to the community in service.
In this quadrant our pain and inner fears compel us to walk others through their pain and inner fears. We are reaching higher levels of understanding to help the wider community which gives us tremendous satisfaction and professional fulfilment. We feel obliged to help those who go through the inner fear we know because helping others charitably, by donation or professionally gives us a great feeling of satisfaction. We operate from behind the scenes and not for personal recognition, only to give others the information they need to help them understand their inner fears so that they may change their lives.
When we help someone else we help ourselves and that gives our life purpose. Without purpose life does not have meaning.
When we give hope to other people we become inwardly fulfilled.
